Unable to open Money file with an msofd.dll error
This error is usually caused by something on the Microsoft Money home page that can't be displayed. This causes the file not to open. This error is often seen with a broken portfolio account which is in the home page view.
To fix this, open the sample file (or a new file) and go to tools->settings->program settings. Then change the default home page to the MSN Money option. Try to open the main file again. If you can, then you could remove the investment content boxes from the home page content (tools->settings->home page display options). Open the Money file again to confirm this.
Then follow the instructions in
Article 21.
