Reactivating Microsoft Money with a new key
If you purchase a new copy of Microsoft Money, and wish to use the new key you are given on your existing file, then there are two options:
- Wait for the expiration notification, and when that happens, enter the details of the new activation key
- Manually run the 'extend.exe' command. This command is found in the hidden MNYCoreFiles folder under the installation of Microsoft Money
The latter will require elevated permissions if running on Vista.
The extend program will show you the current key you are using and allow you to enter a new one. Enter the new key and press 'Activate'.
