Date field keyboard shortcuts in transaction forms

In the date field of a transaction form, it is possible to use a single key to enter a value in the date field of a transaction. If you select the field, and press one of the listed keys below, you will get the appropriate action listed:
  • Y - First day of the year (1st January) - if there is already a date in the field, then the date chosen is the first of the year relating to that date, otherwise Money enters the first date of the current year
  • R - Last day of the year (31st December) - if there is already a date in the field, then the date chosen is last day of the year relating to that date, otherwise Money enters the last date of the current year
  • T - Today
  • M - First day of the month - if there is a value in the field, then the date chosen is the first of the month, otherwise it is the first day of the current month
  • H - Last day of the month - if there is a value in the field, then the date chosen is the last of that month, otherwise it is the last day in the current month
  • + (Plus) - Add one day to the date currently in the date field (if the field is blank, then put tomorrow's date in)
  • - (Minus) - Subtract one day from the date currently in the date field
  • Page Up - The first day of the previous month
  • Page Down - The first day of the following month
Curious on the letters used? The first and last letters of year are Y and R, and similarly month are M and H, hence the choice, and today starts with a T. See also Article 247 which has other keyboard shortcuts in the program.
